Gran Turismo 7 Details the Order Features Unlock Once Players Start the Game

During Sony’s first State of Play presentation of the year, players got a glimpse of several new features that’ll be introduced in Gran Turismo 7. Now they’ve gone on to detail exactly what they can expect out of their first few hours with the game and how soon a new player unlocks access to new features.

The order Gran Turismo 7 features unlock

The first mode players will see is the brand new Music Rally mode where players can enjoy music while they drive. Right at the start of the game its purpose is to introduce players to the basic gameplay while behind the wheel of a Porsche Carrera Speedster ’56. Checkpoints must be reached before time runs out in this arcade-style race, throughout which players can set their steering, driving assist and pedal operation preferences.

Gran Turismo 7 then gives players a small amount of credits to purchase a compact car of their choice before heading towards the new Gran Turismo Cafe. Here players can relax in an actual cafe while perusing a Car Collection Menu. The menu is a list of activities to complete to earn new cars and other items. The first menu features three Japanese compact cars that are earned by placing highly in specific races on the World Circuit. Over time, the Cafe will introduce some of the people who designed the cars so players ca learn about their history and culture.

The beloved License Center is the next feature to be unlocked. The B license is intended for even novice players to be able to earn through short mini games, but those who want the more demanding licenses will need to learn and perfect advanced skills.

Once several Cafe menus have been completed, the Tuning Shop becomes accessible. Each car will have around 60 types of performance parts, leading to a total of several thousand different customization parts in the entire game. All of these features are unlocked in the first few hours of the game.

Later on players will be able to access the High Speed Ring championship event where success here will open up the Brand Central to purchase more cars from 50 different manufacturers. Other features will follow too, all of which were detailed in the State of Play presentation that can be seen in full below.

In other news, the final DLC episode from the Far Cry 6 Season Pass, Joseph: Collapse, will be released next week. This means the DLC will be released a month earlier than initially announced. Elsewhere, former Journey and What Remains of Edith Finch developers have formed a new studio called Gardens to make multiplayer shared experiences.
