Green Hell 2022 roadmap revealed with new content coming

Green Hell will receive even more content updates next year as developer Creepy Jar lays out its 2022 roadmap.

The Polish studio has outlined what fans can come to expect from its jungle-trekking survival sim. New features and mechanics are on their way as well as improvements for Green Hell on consoles.

Updates will be delivered throughout 2022, arriving on PC first before making their way to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. Next year will see these console versions catch up with Spirits of Amazonia Part 1 and Part 2.

Green Hell pits you against the perils of the Amazonian rainforest, whether alone or with up to three other players. Fight, collect resources, and build encampments to survive while delving deeper into the game’s story mode.

Here are the key highlights from the Green Hell 2022 roadmap:

Spirits of Amazonia Part 3: The third and final act of the thrilling Spirits of Amazonia story comes to a conclusion and will be free for all owners of Green Hell.

Building Update: The existing building system receives a hefty update that will be less restrictive than the current system. The ability to cut through thicker trees—removing obstacles such as stumps and logs—allows players maximum flexibility when placing their buildings. New items such as doors, bridges, treehouses, and more will be added. (PC in 2022, planned on consoles at a later date)

Animal Husbandry: Become the master of your domain and farm animals for many of your needs. Players will be able to catch, breed, and feed some of the rainforest’s creatures; keep them in custom pens, and—when the time comes—harvest them for the resources needed most. (PC in 2022, planned on consoles at a later date)

Console Editions: Alongside continued patching to improve the experience on consoles, the entire Spirits of Amazonia series will be making its way to Xbox One and PlayStation in 2022.

In our Green Hell review, Steve couldn’t stop gushing – here’s what he had to say:

“Green Hell is a fantastic survival experience with an exemplary sense of place and peril. Creepy Jar have really nailed the feeling of loneliness and despair that true isolation would lead to and married this to some well balanced challenges and a refreshingly user friendly approach. The range of ways to play are really welcome and should ensure that even those players who may be turned off by the rigours of hunger and thirst mechanics can enjoy the immersive jungle experience. This may not be a welcoming jungle, but there’s plenty of fun and games to be had.”
