GTA Online’s Summer Update Release Date Is Rumored To Be This Month

A reliable GTA V and GTA: Online insider has suggested that the highly anticipated summer update for 2022 could finally be arriving later this month.

No official details have been shared by Rockstar Games as of yet, but last year’s summer update did also launch in July; the Los Santos Tuners update included a plethora of new vehicles, music, missions, and more. It was then followed by what is arguably GTA: Online’s most popular DLC to date, The Contract.

This massive update saw the return of GTA V’s Franklin Clinton, with new businesses to purchase, missions to complete, new music, cars, and so much more. But, as it’s now been almost 7 months since fans received a new DLC release, many are eager to know when the big summer update will arrive.

Well, according to TezFunz2, who is a reliable source when it comes to all things relating to Rockstar Games, the GTA: Online Summer Update for 2022 will reportedly release on Tuesday, July 19th.

It seems as though the evidence for this comes from the fact that the qalive branch on the Steam Database continues to be updated, which indicates that Rockstar is gearing up for the release of a new update. As for how TezFunz2 discovered the exact date of July 19th, the insider believes this is the release date for the Summer Update as the current GTA+ bonuses are due to expire on the 18th.

Speculation has been circulating for many months on what type of content could be included in the next GTA Online DLC. Due to the fact that the previous update saw the return of Franklin Clinton, fans are now speculating that Michael De Santa could feature in his own movie-themed DLC.

Ned Luke, the actor behind GTA’s Michael, recently posted a short video to his social media accounts dressed as Cluckin Bell employee and can be heard saying the line “this was not my idea of a successful retirement”. Many took this as a tease for the return of the character.

With the update rumored to be only two weeks away, fans can likely expect an announcement from Rockstar Games within the coming week. We do however recommend that you take these details with a pinch of salt until it’s made official by the developers.
