Haka and KuPS will battle for a place in the semifinals of the Suomen Cup when they face off at Tehtaan Kenta on Wednesday evening with kickoff at 18:30 EAT.
Haka beat HJS 0-1 the round of 16 to book a place in the quarter finals of the competition. Since then they have won one and drawn one of their last two Finnish top-flight games and with 15 points they sit sixth in the Veikkausliiga standings.
They will shift their focus back to the Suomen Cup where they face an uphill task of overcoming league leaders KuPS, for a place in the semifinals. But Haka have been in good form recently and considering their better head to head record against KuPS, they could fancy they chances.
The match favorites KuPS have enjoyed a good campaign in the Veikkausliiga this season and they lead the league with three points in the clear, with a game in hand on the second-placed HJK.
KuPS claimed a narrow 1-0 win over Mikkelin at away to book a place in the quarter-finals of the Suomen Cup. Since then they suffered a 2-0 defeat to Honka in the league, but they managed to bounce back last time out as they beat Oulu 2-1 at home.
They will now be looking to build on the victory as they seek to extend their run in the Cup. They head into the match with confidence having beaten their host in their last two meetings in Veikkausliiga with one coming at Tehtaan Kenta.
