The last edition of Nations Wars was in 2019. It was long ago, too long ago…
Together, let’s bring back the iconic StarCraft II World Cup: welcome to the Nation Wars 7! #NW7 Support here

Nation wars starts with countries. No longer will you just fight for you or a simple team. Here you represent your entire nation at the top of what competitive StarCraft has to offer, where the stakes are massive and prestige immortal.

The format in this edition will evolve from previous years: one part of the games will be played in 2v2.
We make this choice for 3 main reasons. One to bring diversity to a recipe in its seventh iteration. Two to limit the One Man Army potential of top players. And three to reinforce the team dimension of the rosters. It will be all about synergizing with your unique teammate, because teams will be made of 2 players!

The tournament will take place this summer with 10 play days:
– Qualifier RO32 : 11 / 12 june
– Group Stage RO16 : 17 / 18 / 19 + 22 / 23 / 24 june
– Bracket RO8 : 26 june

International streams:
– English twitch.tv/wardiii with co caster RotterdaM
– French twitch.tv/OGamingSC2
– Korean twitch.tv/crank
– German twitch.tv/taketv
– Polish twitch.tv/indystarcraft
– Russian twitch.tv/alex007sc2
– Spanish twitch.tv/horusstv
– Finish twitch.tv/divinesiatv

We are currently working on booking such a venue in the heart of Paris. In the meantime, we are steaming ahead with the online version of the tournament. The success of this campaing will show the expectation is strong, making the project evolve to offline finals.

From there, we will launch a second campaign for the finals on stage! If you’ve already purchased a ticket in the first crowdfunding round by that point, it will automatically be transformed into a seat for this offline event. #NW7

Great stuff, I’ll make sure to throw a few buck your way!
Clearly with the return of 2v2 Korea need to bring Nestea out of retirement.

I usually love the Allkill-format, but last NationWar was just ridiciolous. It basically was Serral vs. Reynor vs. Korea feat. France. It just asn’t a team-competition at all.
With the new format I can see how this will be more fun, though Korea probably is an even bigger favorite than usual know. Great odds for germany though!

Really excited for the new addition witht his, though it will also be the first NW without Snute, right?

Magnificent News! There are plenty of national teams that have real upset potential. Of course, Korea is the natural hyper-favorite in this format, with still the biggest number of extraordinary players. But I would give France, Germany, China definitivly a outsider chance.
Cheers to you guys at O’Gaming

Clem and Serral are pretty much S class Korean level imo, I think that Serral might be a bit stronger in ZvT then Clem is in TvT, not exactly sure of Clem’s TvT.

I would just send out Maru + Byun for S Korea and watch them shit on people with double proxy reapers every 2v2 game.

Do they have to bring the same 2 Players every match or is a 3rd Player in the rooster possible?
Would be pretty sad to only get 2 out of Gabe, Lambo and Showtime onto Team Germany

I like the new format but 3 players per country would be better i think.

The current Olympic Table Tennis Team event format of 3 players best-of-5 is a better solution

ABC Team vs XYZ Team
1 Doubles B+C vs Y+Z
2 Singles A vs X
3 Singles C vs Z
4 Singles (if necessary) A vs Y
5 Singles (if necessary) B vs X

I am not too much into 2v2 but, is it not imbalanced in favor of TZ teams?

Why do you think that? I hardly think any of the 2v2 maps have been tried and tested very thoroughly by the top players…

Last time I saw anything in terms of high level 2v2, the best combination was PT because of the skytoss/mech combo.

I find it weird that you try to weaken “one man armies”, yet you make the players who would be that even more important by making teams smaller.

Every 60 seconds in Africa, a minute passes.
