Riot Games is looking to warm your hearts and souls with Milio, The Gentle Flame. He is Riot’s first champion release of 2023 as well as the latest support character to arrive in League of Legends. He will be joining the Summoner’s Rift soon alongside his trusted companions, fuemigos.

Hailing from the region of Ixtal, this will be the first champion to make its debut from the Perilous Eastern Jungles after Qiyana back in 2019. With his launch also comes a new lore surrounding Milio as well as his journey to being the Gentle Flame.

It starts with his imprisoned grandaunt Luné, which was also the result of Milio’s family’s banishment from the land, which was what kindled the journey of the Gentle Flame. When Milio’s grandmother Lupé, who is also Luné’s twin sister, noticed his fire-healing abilities and encouraged him to set forth across the region to restore honour to the family name.

Milio was able to craft certain characteristics of his family into his fuemigos. This ensures that he will never truly be alone when he heads to the Summoner’s Rift. With the ability to heal allies and fend off possible attacks, Milio can be a great addition to the upcoming meta for the 2023 season. He is also able to buff his allies by removing crowd control effects as well as being in the lane while also being able to knock back enemies.

Passive – Fired Up

Milio’s abilities enchant allies on touch, making their next spell or attack deal a burst of extra damage and burn the target.

Q – Ultra Mega Fire Kick

Kick a ball that knocks back an enemy. When it hits, the ball bounces behind the target, damaging and slowing enemies in the area upon impact.

W – Cozy Campfire

Create an empowering zone that heals allies and increases Attack Range for those inside. The zone follows the ally nearest to the cast point.

E – Warm Hugs

Milio tosses a shield to an ally, temporarily increasing their movement speed.

R – Breath of Life

Milio unleashes a wave of soothing flames that heal and remove crowd control effects from allies in range.

With patch 13.5 expected to drop this week, it looks like Milio will only be making his debut in the next fortnight. This means that Milio will drop alongside patch 13.6 on March 22, according to the official League of Legends patch schedule.
