hooch: “We’re still a young team which doesn’t understand their full power yet”

Entropiq became the third team to advance to the PGL Major Stockholm Legends stage on Thursday, beating Heroic in a 2-1 series to lock in their third win in the opening Swiss stage and move on in the tournament.

We talked to hooch after the qualifying victory in a video interview to hear from the Entropiq coach about his team’s run and how they came back from an opening loss to BIG to beat Astralis, Movistar Riders, and Heroic in the following three rounds.

The veteran spoke about what the team had been missing to become a true contender for a spot among tier one opposition after sitting in the same spot for several months, highlighting Entropiq‘s grind in some of the lower-tier tournaments as a key factor.

We asked hooch about Aleksey “El1an” Gusev and what the young AWPer did to return to his usual consistent self after an up-and-down performance at IEM Fall, and how his less experienced players might react to a change of scenery when they leave the comfort of the practice rooms to play in a studio environment.

The 34-year-old also discussed the team’s outlook before the Legends stage and stacking up against teams like Natus Vincere, Gambit, and more.
