How to beat Moragia in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom (TotK)

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom boasts a huge world filled with powerful beasts. Some of those encounters stand out more than others. Here is our guide explaining how to beat Moragia in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

Tears of the Kingdom – how to beat Moragia

Your battle with Moragia takes place shortly into your attempt to return peace to the area around Goron City as part of the Regional Phenomena main quest. After returning Yunobo to his senses, you join him on a trip up the mountain to pursue the princess. That’s when Moragia attacks.

To beat Moragia, you must hit it with three charged shots launched from the deck of a flying vehicle. Yunobo is your projectile. As for your vehicle, you will find it leaning against a nearby ledge of cooled molten rock.

Quickly use the Ultrahand ability to grab the hovercraft vehicle. It consists of two Battery pieces, a Control stick, and four Fan pieces attached to a Wing. Spin it around and lay it flat on the rock. Make sure it faces away from the slope where the three Moragia heads have emerged.

When you stand on the center of the Wing, it should start a slow launch forward. Pull back on the stick to gain elevation as you circle slowly back around and start flying up toward the worm-like appendages. As you approach them, a guidance beam appears to let you know where you can fire Yunobo. When he is lined up with one of the heads, press the indicated button to launch him from your craft. A direct hit removes 1/3 of your foe’s life meter.

You need to hit each of the three heads one time with Yunobo. Doing so is not super difficult if you ascend quickly. However, the monster fires molten balls. If one hits your craft, it may knock you from your perch. Then you and your craft will plummet to the rock. In that case, quickly find your flying contraption again. Then use the Ultrahand ability to again orient it so it is facing away from the worms. Launch it as before and resume your attack.

You want to face your craft away from Moragia when you first launch because otherwise you don’t have time to gain elevation properly. Crashing against the rock doesn’t hurt much. However, it leaves you exposed while you get back into the air. It’s best just to start by giving yourself some elevation. Using the above approach, I found the battle simple. Your foe doesn’t inflict much damage even if it hits you. The hardest part of beating Moragia is staying in the air.
