How To Beat Tremortusk In Horizon Forbidden West

Horizon Forbidden West has plenty of new challenging enemies and the Tremortusk is one of them. The large mammoth-like machine can be very intimidating and has a lot of attacks. In this Horizon Forbidden West guide, we are going to walk you through how you can beat a Tremortusk.

Before getting into the details, you should know that the machine is weak against frost damage and strong against fire damage. If you encounter an Apex Tremortusk, which is more aggressive, it is weak against shock damage and weak towards purgewater and plasma damage.

The machine has plenty of components that you can target for increased damage. Firstly, you can target the tusks. Shoot at these with impact ammo to deal more damage and detach the tusks from the body. If you can do that, then you will disable the charge attacks and tusk swipes of the Tremortusk. We recommend doing this as this is an important upgrade resource and it is destroyed if you take down the machine.

The Tremortusk also has a Plasma Cannon which it is going to use to fire plasma projectiles at you. You can remove this with impact damage. When you do that, the cannon is going to drop and you can use it to deal damage to the machine. The weapon does considerable damage and that is why we recommend taking down this component when possible. Similarly, the machine also has a Shock Cannon mounted on its body. You can detach this by using impact damage and then using the weapon against the machine.

Another component that the machine has is called the Sparker. If you use shock ammo on this then it will trigger an explosion that is going to deal a lot of damage and take away consider HP from the health bar of the Tremortusk. Similarly, the machine also has a Blaze Sac which you can target. Deal enough damage and it will explode, dealing a lot of damage.

The machine also has a Salvo Cannon. This cannot be used once detached but doing so will disable some of the attacks of the Tremortusk so it is definitely worth taking out if you can. Furthermore, the machine has a heat sink that acts like a weak spot that you can target to deal higher amounts of damage.

Some variants of the machine also have a Chillwater Canister. You can attack these with shock damage to trigger an explosion. This is going to do significant damage.
