The Elden Ring Diallos quest is available fairly early on in the Lands Between. You’ll meet this NPC when you first venture to Roundtable Hold, though his questline won’t start until you reach Liurnia of the Lakes. Diallos’s story arc ties into Jar-Bairn’s storyline as well as Volcano Manor (opens in new tab) in Mt Gelmir.
There are a surprising number of Elden Ring quests (opens in new tab) to complete and many are easy to miss, especially as the quest dialogue is generally vague too. The first major patch (opens in new tab) introduced new icons to help keep track of the NPCs you meet, but you still might get stuck wondering what to do next. So with that in mind, here’s how to complete the Elden Ring Diallos quest.
Elden Ring Diallos quest summary
You won’t be able to complete the Diallos quest if you defeat Rykard at Mt Gelmir early. Doing so causes everyone to leave Volcano Manor.
Here’s a brief summary of the steps you’ll take during Diallos’s questline:
- Speak to Diallos at Roundtable Hold and he’ll tell you about Lanya.
- Find and speak to Diallos in Liurnia, close to the Academy Gate Town.
- Return to Roundtable Hold and speak to him at his original location.
- Head to Volcano Manor and find Diallos in the same room as Bernahl. Exhaust his dialogue.
- Keep checking in with Diallos every time you complete a step at Volcano Manor.
- Once you start the second main assassination, Diallos will leave the manor.
- Head to Liurnia and find Diallos at Jarburg (you need to work through the Jar Bairn quest (opens in new tab) a little way to get him to show up).
- Talk to both Diallos and Jar Bairn until they have no new dialogue.
- Rest and move time forward by at least one whole night.
- Speak to Diallos again to complete his quest.

Elden Ring Diallos location: Where to find this NPC
After you initially meet Diallos in Roundtable Hold, you can find him again once you reach the Liurnia of the Lakes area. Fast travel (opens in new tab) to the Academy Gate Town Site of Grace to the southeast of Raya Lucaria Academy and you can find him almost directly north, standing on one of the rooftops. His exact location is shown in the screenshot above.
Speak to him and exhaust his dialogue, then return to Roundtable Hold to find him in his original location. Speak to him again and he’ll mention getting an invitation, as well as the location of the manor.
Volcano Manor
Find Diallos at Volcano Manor
Now you should continue exploring the Lands Between until you reach Mt. Gelmir and access Volcano Manor. You’ll need to join the Recusants to access the room where Diallos resides.
Once Tannith hands over the Drawing Room Key, use it to access the room down the corridor on your left. It’s the same room where you find the Volcano Manor letters on the table and Bernahl (opens in new tab) is sitting close by. Diallos can be found leaning against a wall so talk to him and exhaust his dialogue.
To continue the quest further, you should progress through the Volcano Manor questline. Return to Diallos and speak to him whenever you complete a contract and he will eventually leave.

Elden Ring’s NPC quests
The final step of Diallos’s quest takes you to Jarburg in Liurnia of the Lakes. You can get to this area by fast traveling to the Gate Town Bridge Site of Grace, then head east to the cliff just south of the Carian Study Hall (opens in new tab). Now you need to speak to Jar-Bairn to progress their quest. You’ll be asked if you’re the new Potentate, so reply that you are. Exhaust the dialogue then reload the area—either fast travel away or rest at a Site of Grace. Speak to Jar-Bairn again and they’ll mention Diallos has arrived.
Look for Diallos inside one of the huts and talk to him, once again exhausting his dialogue. Reload the area and speak to both Diallos and Jar-Bairn until they say something new, then pass time at the nearby Site of Grace so a whole night has passed.
You can now find Diallos in the centre of Jarburg. Select “You defended them” when prompted, speak to Jar Bairn again, then reload the area once more. Talk to Jar Bairn for the last time, then after a final reload, you can loot Hoslow’s Petal Whip, Diallos’ Mask, and a Numen’s Rune.
