There are hundreds of cars available in Forza Horizon 5, and while it’s nice to have a massive number of them in your garage, sometimes you might want to sell some of them.
Unfortunately, selling a car in Forza Horizon 5 isn’t as simple as going to your garage, selecting the car you want to sell, and then confirming your intention to receive a wad of cash. Instead, you need to rely on the auction house. And just like in real life, the market can be fickle.
So, to sell a car in Forza Horizon 5, you first need to go to a festival site or house that you own. Thankfully you can do that quickly from the pause menu. When at a house or festival site, press the left shoulder button on your controller to go to the Buy and Sell tab, then select the Auction House option.

On the next screen, select Start Auction. You’ll then be taken to your garage. In your garage, select the car that you want to sell, then hit the Auction Car option. A box will then appear, asking you to set a starting price for the auction, as well as a buyout price. You’ll also be asked to set the auction length. Once you’re happy with your selections, you can make the auction live.
Just like an auction in real life, your car isn’t guaranteed to sell. If it doesn’t, perhaps check the price of those listed like yours to see what the going rate is. You might have a hard time trying to get rid of some cars unless you sell them dirt cheap.
If a car won’t sell no matter how hard you try, you can always just get rid of it. Simply go to your garage, select the car you want rid of, then select the ‘Remove Car from Garage’ option. You obviously won’t get any money for it that way though.
