Humankind’s Modding Tools Are Arriving in Beta Today

Humankind Mods

Fancy living in a world where a giant Macho Man Randy Savage roams the seas? Humankind’s new mod tools, currently in beta, could be just what you need.

Granted, you’ll have to create Machothulu yourself, since it’s early days for modding but, coinciding with Humankind’s latest Fabius Maximus update, developers Amplitude Studios have put out the tools you need to twist this PC turn-based strategy game to your own  twisted whims.

Not to be confused with monkey-based Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey, Humankind puts you in charge of shepherding a civilization’s development, something that definitely isn’t going to have any horrifying consequences. Mod support has, apparently, been a heavily requested feature, which is why Amplitude have released the tools necessary to warp the world even further.

Sure, you can create “sensible” mods, pose a number of historically plausible what if scenarios and so forth, but where’s the fun in that? One cool, non Randy-Savage related feature is that, thanks to the use of the mod.io platform, you’ll be able to use the same mods no matter which PC storefronts you got it from, Xbox Game Pass, Steam or the Epic Game Store.

You can find out how to get Humankind’s mod-tools and how to play with mods here, though bear in mind that, still being in beta, the tools aren’t complete – you can’t for, example, mod the game’s AI just yet. You can pick the game up Steam, the Epic Games Store or through Xbox Game Pass PC.
