Moses has 25 years of experience in the game industry, over 13 years of which is with game holding company Take-Two Interactive. The company owns publishing labels Rockstar Games and 2K, with its game portfolio including franchises such as BioShock, Borderlands, Grand Theft Auto, NBA 2K, and Red Dead, among others.

Moses commented on his new role: “Data is an asset. Over the years spent in gaming, entertainment, and sports, I have learned the incredible value that wisely managed, and properly utilised data can offer. Data has proven its power in traditional sports but I believe it can exceed these results in competitive gaming. The variety of touchpoints digital entertainment offers creates a massive opportunity, but not without its own challenges to overcome.

“The GRID Data Platform is the only solution I have seen thus far that provides the necessary tools to seamlessly integrate, and what’s even more important to operate at scale. It is clearly visible that it has been created for the gaming industry.”

2022 has been a busy year for GRID already. Not only has the platform launched its Open Platform, but the company secured partnerships with Epic Esports Events, BLAST Premier and WePlay Esports

Moritz Maurer, GRID CEO, added: “J’s first-hand, invaluable expertise in game development and publishing, understanding of current game publishers’ challenges, and expertise on data use in sports media and broadcasts will help GRID to tailor the platform functionality to the gaming industry needs.

“The early stages of our cooperation have already proven the strong alignment in values and vision, and I am happy that we can invite J on our quest to contribute to the data-driven future of esports and gaming.”

Esports Insider says: Following its success in the esports industry, GRID now looks to expand into gaming and even potentially change how game publishers approach data solutions. In this case, choosing someone with extensive experience in the gaming industry as an advisor is undeniably a great move by GRID.
