Jackky leaves BOOM Esports: All his Star Moments

One among the best carries that ever played for BOOM Esports, he has seen the team from the very inception of their late-game aggressive playstyle. Shortly after Tino went inactive, JaCkky was tapped to fill in for upcoming DPC Tournaments right until The International 12.

Right after TI, JaCkky decided to explore his options for the next season.

“Today, with a heavy heart, we bid our farewell to our position 1 from our Dota 2 team, Souliya “JaCkky” Khoomphetsavong. No words can express how happy we were working with Jackky to achieve our dream to The International”, tweeted by BOOM Esports.

While the rumor of him leaving the team has been finally revealed, it cannot be denied that the star player had some of his most glorious moments with BOOM Esports. Let’s take a step back and reminisce from the beginning of the DPC season on what happened.

Champion of DPC SEA 2021/2022 Tour 1: Regional Final

The very beginning of the DPC after a suspended major, Jackky sought afterwards to capture the championship in the regional final to guarantee themselves a hefty share of available DPC points.

A point-blank charge to regional rivals T1 was a fail moment in the beginning as they were downed 1-2 by Kuku and friends. Coming back from a loss, they demolished Team SMG 2-1 and went to the Grand Final in an attempt to tip the scales back in their favor. After three victories in Games 1, 2, and 4, BOOM Esports gained their first DPC championship in an unforeseen victory.

Champion of Gamers Galaxy Dubai 2022

Not long after their success in the last DPC tour, JaCkky and the boys at the time headed straight up to Dubai for their first international debut. Playing amongst world’s best teams like Team Secret, Team Spirit and Nigma Galaxy was a whole new experience and became a test for their mettle against other regions’ top teams, let alone a new audience experience.

To quote his teammate Saieful “Fbz” Ilham, they weren’t expecting much from the tournament as they were testing the waters and could become a learning experience for them. In the grand final, however, they booted eventual TI winners Tundra Esports out of the Grand Final, 3-2, to win their first LAN tournament.

Champion of Gamers Galaxy Thailand 2022

Right after the third tour, JaCkky and the team once again joined another Gamers Galaxy Tournament that was held in Hat Yai, Thailand a few months before TI11. With a Gamers Galaxy trophy in their bag, they looked forward to bag another and may also serve as a tournament where they could test their big guns against the top teams in SEA.

A fiery grand final against Polaris Esports was a spectacle as JaCkky switched between four different heroes in 5 games to eventually wrestle the championship from Polaris. The event made them cement their place as the top dog in the region.

Champion of BTS Pro Series Season 12 SEA

Lastly, before going to The International 11, JaCkky and the boys once again proved their domination over the region by claiming the first place before going to their bootcamp in Malaysia in preparation for the TI 11. JaCkky and Fbz even went back to Indonesia to meet some fans and pack their documents in their bootcamp, resulting in an even deeper bond within JaCkky and the team, especially for Fbz.

Jackky has bid farewell to the team but his contribution to BOOM Esports’ competitive legacy won’t be forgotten. The Laotian carry had a share of his own ups and downs but until their very final moment in TI11, they never wavered and hoisted SEA’s placement even against defending champions Team Spirit whom they’ve downed 1-0 in a LB Round 1 heartstopper.
