JACKZ departs G2

Audric “JACKZ” Jug will not play for G2 going into the second half of 2022 and he is no longer tied to the Berlin-based organization.

His departure comes after a tenure just shy of four years, the longest in G2‘s current roster, dating back to the days of a full French lineup with the likes of Kenny “kennyS” Schrub, Richard “shox” Papillon and Alexandre “bodyy” Pianaro.

JACKZ ends a storied career with G2 going into the second half of 2022

The 30-year-old was a late bloomer, playing in the French subtop scene until he signed for G2 at age 26 alongside his 3DMAX teammate Lucas “Lucky” Chastang. During his time in G2 he averaged a 1.00 and was a solid foundation in and out of the server for the different star-studded rosters around him.

JACKZ didn’t lift any Big Event trophies with G2, winning only the Champions Cup Finals and Good Game League in 2019, but was a runner-up at events of the caliber of IEM Cologne 2021, IEM Katowice 2020 and 2022, and the PGL Major in Stockholm.

Previous reports indicate that the former G2 player is on his way to HEET, where he will take over the spot on the roster recently left open by former G2 teammate Lucky. He will also reunite with another previous G2 teammate, bodyy. It won’t be the first time, as JACKZ briefly played with this core in the early DBL PONEY days while sitting on G2‘s bench. Together they reached two ESEA Cash Cup finals and won one of them.

G2 is now down to four players following JACKZ‘s departure, although in-game leader Aleksi “Aleksib” Virolainen was also allowed to explore his options outside of the team, which makes his exit a real possibility before the end of the off-season. As far as intakes go, reports have pointed to Justin “jks” Savage as one of the possible new additions to the team.
