Odds as of Jan 26 at FanDuel Sportsbook

As six-point underdogs in the Knicks vs Heat odds, Julius Randle will need to have a big night and likely go over his projections of 18 and 8. New York sports bettors can hit the Knicks overs at a variety of sportsbooks that have launched in the state.

Conley Leads the Jazz

Mike Conley has recorded 21 or more points and assists in three of his last four. He’s returning after sitting out Monday’s game against Phoenix, and will be in control of the offense with Donovan Mitchell still sidelined. Rudy Gobert also remains out for Utah.

Conley has played just 89 minutes this season without Mitchell and  Gobert. The numbers are not particularly useful as a result. Conley’s return should allow Quin Snyder to return to something resembling a normal rotation with the former Memphis guard playing the one.

Danuel House and Trent Forrest combined for 21 shots on Monday. Jared Butler got up nine from the bench and Jordan Clarkson took 20 as a starter. Conley remains an unselfish player, averaging under 11 field goal attempts per game, but he’s in line for a bigger role on Wednesday night with no Mitchell or Gobert. There’s plenty of shots to go round.

Utah was well below its season average in assists with just 16 on Monday. Conley will get the ball moving again – his 26.4% assist rate for the season should increase without Mitchell, and he already ranks above De’Aaron Fox and DeMar DeRozan in that category.

The Jazz pushed the Suns deep into the fourth even with all five starters missing a couple of days ago. This should be a competitive game, with Conley likely to play well over 30 minutes. That’s plenty of time to hit this over.

  • Pick: Mike Conley over 20.5 points and assists (-113)

Randle Struggles Again

Julius Randle has gone under this points line in six of his last nine games. Admittedly, that includes a couple of 18-point efforts, but even getting to that level is going to be tough against this Heat defense.

Randle ranks in the sixth percentile for his position in effective field goal percentage this season. He’s taking an alarming number of long twos, and ranks below average as a shooter all over the floor.

While Miami is only 13th in defense over the last 10, they have numerous players to throw at Randle with Jimmy Butler, Bam Adebayo and P.J. Tucker all well-equipped to cope with his size.

The former Laker has arguably been the most disappointing player in the league this season. It’s been a brutal January with a true shooting of just 48.5%, which ranks 377th of players to play in eight or more games this month. That’s less efficient than Dennis Smith Jr, Darius Bazley and Facundo Campazzo.

Perhaps Randle shoots enough that he sneaks into the 20s in scoring again. Against this Heat defense, though, it’s not going to be easy. Take the under here – Randle could be in for a very difficult night.

  • Pick: Julius Randle under 18.5 points (-120)
