Kyle Pitts Out for Season With Knee Injury

Atlanta Falcons tight end Kyle Pitts has undergone surgery for a knee injury. He is now officially out for the remainder of the year as he rehabs from the surgery. After the MCL injury, there was a chance Pitts would forgo surgery to return to the field, but that did not come to pass.

PFF’s Ari Meirov reported the news via Twitter on Wednesday.

The Falcons selected Pitts with the fourth overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. He was seen as a one-of-one tight end talent in that draft out of Florida, being chosen by Atlanta despite other, more glaring, holes to fill on the roster.

Pitts has played in just 10 games this season, grabbing 28 receptions for 356 yards and just two touchdowns. In his rookie year, he had 68 catches for over 1,000 yards and one touchdown, playing in all 17 contests.
