Latest Battlefield 2042 Trailer Hypes DLSS & Ray Tracing With Mixed Results

If you are a big fan of the first-person shooter genre, then you would probably know that the best experience is oftentimes on the PC platform. With both Call of Duty: Vanguard and Battlefield 2042 both arriving in a short time, the latter has taken another opportunity to show off the visual bells and whistles players can expect. The latest Battlefield 2042 trailer shows off just what Nvidia DLSS, Reflex, and ray tracing can do on the PC.

Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS) in Battlefield 2042 will provide high frame rates and uncompromised image quality with maxed out graphics, that is, if your machine can handle it. System latency will see a reduction thanks to Nvidia Reflex, all while Ray-traced Ambient Occlusion brings shadows to a high level of accuracy.

All of that sure sounds good, and for the most part, the Battlefield 2042 trailer achieves that aim. However, there are some sequences, like the action on the helicopter, that seemed choppy and not as smooth as the rest of the footage.

The less comprehensive nature of the RTX support, with only ray-traced ambient occlusion being a headliner, could also be disappointing to fans.

Nevertheless, with the action set to be the most chaotic and engaging one of the series thus far, perhaps taking a bump on the graphical side of things is worth it just for the experience alone. We will find out soon enough when the game arrives on November 19. If you are itching to get started, the early access period begins on November 12.
