Launching in-game tournaments with The Battle of Polytopia

Challengermode has partnered with Midjiwan to bring tournaments into The Battle of Polytopia — creating a truly seamless competitive gaming experience for players.

Today marks another important milestone in our company’s mission of making esports truly accessible.

In partnership with Midjiwan, we’re proud to announce — for the first time ever — the launch of community and esports tournaments directly inside a game, powered by Challengermode.

From December 12th, The Battle of Polytopia’s tens of millions of players will be able to browse, play and see the results of tournaments from within Polytopia itself without ever having to leave the game client. These tournaments can be created by organizers or anyone else in the community on Challengermode.

We’re convinced that working closely with game developers to bring competitive formats into the games is what the future of competitive gaming looks like for 99% of players.

“We couldn’t be more excited to be helping Midjiwan expand the competitive gaming side of The Battle of Polytopia […] Its also an excellent opportunity for Challengermode to demonstrate benefits of game developers working directly with companies in the esports space to rapidly scale up their own competitive gaming operations, making their games better integrated and more accessible to esports hopefuls of all levels. With the sustained growth of the grassroots esports sector, we fully expect more game developers to add competitive modes such as tournaments, leagues and ladders alongside their classic multiplayer modes in the near future.”
