LCS Summer 2022 Week 8 – Match Predictions and Analysis

LCS Summer 2022 is just 1 week away from the end of the regular season. With 8 teams heading to the playoffs, the battle for the last tickets is still close. Unlike the other weeks, week eight will be a “Super Week” and will feature 15 matches in total. Here is the schedule and predictions for the first day of the week.

Team Liquid vs Dignitas

Predictions: Liquid to win

The final week of LCS Summer 2022 will open with two teams on opposite ends of the spectrum. Team Liquid has already secured a playoff spot with 10 wins. Dignitas, on the other hand, is at the bottom of the league with 3 wins. 

Despite being in last place, Dignitas still has playoff hopes thanks to the LCS system. There is only one win between them and the eighth place team, a gap that can be closed quite easily. However, their opponent Liquid is also aiming for first place and is a much stronger team.

Golden Guardians is  currently on the edge of the playoffs with 4 wins. Heading into Super Week, where each team will play three games each, the team needs to at least maintain its position so that it can advance to the next stage. 

Unfortunately, its opponent in the first match of the week is Evil Geniuses, one of the best teams in the league. It is currently tied for the lead with 100 Thieves with 12 wins and overcoming Golden Guardians is not a very difficult task.

100 Thieves is on a perfect 6-game streak with back-to-back wins in recent weeks. Every week the roster is getting better as a team and defeating their opponents more easily. With 12 wins, it is at the top of the league.

On the other hand, FlyQuest’s playoff race is still alive. That being said, the chances of them losing this race are quite low as they are far enough away from the other teams. 100 Thieves is one step ahead in this series, both because of their fight for first place against EG and because they don’t want to break their winning streak.

After the worst season in its history in LCS Spring 2022, TSM has somehow managed to find itself in the playoff race. Although far from its former glory, the organization is currently in 7th place with 5 wins. However, a loss in the last week could push the team out of the playoffs again in an instant.

CLG, on the other hand, has a clear head. With 10 wins, the squad has already made it to the next stage. Their next goal is to take the first place from their rivals. A difficult task on paper, but not impossible.

Immortals vs Cloud9

Cloud9 is uncharacteristically mid-table in the league, but will go into the final week with the confidence of securing its place out of the playoff race. The team is currently in 5th place with 8 wins, but a win in their next three games could propel them into third place in an instant.

Immortals, on the other hand, still has a chance to make the playoffs. It will face three different strong opponents in the last week and will try to pull out victories in matches where the roster doesn’t look like favorites. And it can start those surprise wins with this match.
