TSM vs Evil Geniuses

The first game of the day started out fast. EG ganked bot minute three, but they didn’t even need it as Danny and Vulcan got a 2v2 first blood. They also took an early first drake thanks to the bot pressure. TSM at least got the first Herald, but they were still behind 1.5k at 10 minutes. The teams slowed down a bit after this, we didn’t even see a fight for the third drake, even though it would’ve been the soul point for EG. Just after the drake, Spica found a great kick on Danny, but EG turned the fight around in a quick fashion 5-for-0 ace and extend their lead to 5k before Baron spawned. EG then gave up another drake in favor of a pick on Maple and the Baron. EG was confident with their Baron buff and 8k lead and dove TSM at bot inhibitor turrets. After getting four kills with no trade, closing out the game was very easy.

  • Teams: TSM – EG
  • Time: 25:53
  • Kills: 0 – 12
  • Turrets: 2 – 8
  • Gold: 38.9k – 48.9k
  • Dragons: 2 – 2
  • Barons: 0 – 1

FlyQuest vs Dignitas

lcsweek3flydigdraft

As expected from the scaling picks from both sides, the early game was very passive except for some trading back and forth. Before 10 minutes the only action was a trade of objectives, first Herald for FLY and drake for Dig, and gold was still even. Just after the tenth minute, we got our first blood after a River gank at the bottom lane. Despite FLY having a 1k lead at the 20th minute, Dig managed to get their third drake for an early soul point. FLY then went for an early Baron and secured the objective despite a close fight and a double kill from Blue’s Viktor.

FLY found a 4-for-1 fight just before the fourth drake to extend their lead to over 5k. But Dig spawned before the objective and still tried to contest but was unsuccessful. FLY then used their 7.5k lead to force another Baron, and it was impossible for Dig to contest due to the poke from the Corki. Dig managed to steal the soul at the next fight, but Philip teleported to the Dig base at the ensuing fight, and with the bases stopped he finished the game uncontested.

  • Teams: FLY – DIG
  • Time: 30:59
  • Kills: 10 – 9
  • Turrets: 7 – 2
  • Gold: 55.9k – 49.3k
  • Dragons: 1 – 4
  • Barons: 2 – 0

100 Thieves vs Team Liquid

lcsweek3100ttldraft

There was no early action in the clash of two top teams, except a 6-minute drake and 500 gold TL lead thanks to Udyr’s fast clear speed. Despite having prio in all lanes and a small lead, TL decided to concede the first Herald to 100T. TL got their second drake at minute 12 and we still didn’t have our first kill. The first team fight occurred at the 17th minute, at the third drake. Despite Closer stealing the drake to delay TL’s soul, no one died so there still was no first blood, but TL was ahead 2k gold.

The first blood came at the 25th minute thanks to a solo kill from Bwipo, even though he got traded just after. 100T then tried to sneak the Baron, successfully, and got three kills and their second drake after TL decided to contest. Even though the Baron Power Play wasn’t the biggest, it helped 100T tie the gold. Just 20 seconds before TL’s soul point, 100T found a great engage onto their opponent. They aced TL and pushed to end the game, just seven minutes after the first blood.

  • Teams: 100T – TL
  • Time: 32:25
  • Kills: 10 – 2
  • Turrets: 7 – 2
  • Gold: 59.3k – 55.4k
  • Dragons: 2 – 3
  • Barons: 1 – 0

Golden Guardians vs Immortals

Another game with an early drake, for GG, but no early kills. IMT took the first Herald but GG did not contest and opted to get turret plates which put them in a 2k lead at 10 minutes. We got our first blood in a fight for the second Herald. GG got the Herald and three kills off of a great Ablazeolive play and they pushed their lead to 3.5k. IMT got the drake to delay soul, but GG used their Herald to get three mid turrets instead of contesting the drake.

With IMT playing passive, GG went for a 50-50 Baron and secured it. They additionally got two more kills to push their lead to 8k. IMT got their first kill during the siege, but GG still got two inhibs and the soul point. After this point, the result of the game was inevitable as IMT looked like they had no business winning the game. After getting a second Baron and acing IMT in their base, GG finally ended the game.

  • Teams: GG – IMT
  • Time: 31:49
  • Kills: 12 – 1
  • Turrets: 11 – 0
  • Gold: 61.4k – 47.5k
  • Dragons: 4 – 1
  • Barons: 2 – 0

Counter Logic Gaming vs Cloud9

Unlike the last two, the last game of the day started out much more fast-paced. After some heavy trading in the bot lane, CLG found the first blood and the first drake due to a great counter-gank. C9 also didn’t contest the first Herald, but the gold was even at 10 minutes thanks to a 30 cs difference for C9’s bot lane. CLG tried to pressure and dive bot, but a good roam from Jensen gave them two kills for zero, and they took a 2.5k gold lead. C9 contested to delay the soul point at the 18th minute, despite Fudge getting picked off. They got the drake and three more kills, pushing their lead to 4k.

Despite CLG trying to find picks, C9 kept up cs leads during mid game and their lead was 6.5k at the 29th minute and they got the Mountain Soul point. C9 then baited CLG to come to Baron, but they don’t need to finish as they turned and aced CLG using their massive lead, ending the game.

  • Teams: CLG – C9
  • Time: 30:47
  • Kills: 5 – 15
  • Turrets: 2 – 8
  • Gold: 48k – 58.3k
  • Dragons: 2 – 3
  • Barons: 0 – 0
