LDLC OL vs Karmine Corp: LFL 2022 Summer Predictions

LDLC OL vs Karmine Corp: LFL 2022 Summer Predictions

LDLC OL take on Karmine Corp on Thursday as the LFL summer heads into the last week of the round robin before the top six teams are confirmed for the playoffs. LDLC are not only assured of their playoff spot, but are also clear-cut favourites to take home the championship. Karmine Corp are more or less confirmed to make it to the playoffs too, but a win will take their W-L ratio over 50% so they can breathe a bit easier. Beating the league’s table-toppers, however, is easier said than done. Let’s take a look at some LoL betting picks for this one.

Predictions: LDLC OL to win

When: Thursday, July 27, 18:00 CEST

LDLC OL historically has been one of the best in the French league and are conducting a perfect defence of their spring title. So far, they’ve won the LFL thrice in the league’s four-year history – consecutive titles in the spring and summer of 2019, and now the spring of 2022. And they are on course to claiming a fourth. They currently sit comfortably atop the rankings with an almost surreal 15 victories out of the 16 games played so far, a near-perfect level of dominance to which no other team has even come close.

They seem to only get better as the years go on, leaving the rest struggling in their wake to match their standard. LDLC’s sole loss this season occurred after an eleven-week unbeaten run. That did nothing to dent their purple patch, because they went on to defeat Misfits Premier and Gameward across the next two weeks. Their bot laner Thomas ‘Exacick’ Foucou has been the star of the show, his kill rate of 5.31 among the highest in the tournament, but it hasn’t been a one-man show by any stretch of the imagination.

Stat-wise, they are placed a cut above the respect across practically every metric. They lead the GPM count with 1971, and their 16.5 kill count per game manifests their ultra-aggression. They’ve inflicted a damage per minute of 2302, which also ranks them high on the scales in terms of offence. LDLC’s tower destruction rate of 8.7 is, as you guessed, the best among all teams too. Clearly, they’re favourites not only to trump their opposition Karmine Corp in the last game of the round robin, but are well on their way to adding the LFL 2022 Championship to their already loaded trophy cabinet.

Karmine Corp Need Refreshing Soon

Karmine Corp have had a middling season by their usual standards. They have shown glimpses of their usual brilliance but have failed to find the consistency they’d expect of themselves. They’ve won eight out of 16 games so far, but will be aware of this falling far below their usual level of performance. After winning the European Masters Spring Main Event in May, their slip-ups in the LFL this summer have been a little baffling.

KC have never won an LFL championship so far, though they’ve come devastatingly close – they placed third last spring and were runners-up in the summer of 2021. This summer they’ve gone down twice to GameWard, and have also suffered surprising losses against lower-placed teams Solary and Team Oplon. Both were hits that were difficult to take, and have kept KC stranded at fifth place on the rankings, tied with Misfits Premier.

They are, no doubt, certainly in the running for the playoffs, but a loss for them in the upcoming game could make their current standing quite uncomfortable. Even if they qualify, the road to the LFL summer final is going to be a long, hard one from the loser’s bracket at number five, which is the highest rank they can possibly finish.

Carl Larssen, or ‘Rekkles’ their bot laner has had an excellent season with a kill rate of 4.86, and on that front seems to have outperformed the rest of his team. KC have persisted with their aggressive approach, as shown by their kill rate of 12.7 and tower destruction rate of 6.9, and in that respect they are certainly placed among the better teams. Their DPM of 3751 is the highest among the rest as well. However, their offensive strategy has taken a toll; their death rate per game is 14, quite a heavy price to pay.

LDLC OL vs Karmine Corp Predictions

In our LoL predictions, KC are coming off a two-match losing streak after the shock defeat to Solary, followed by a loss to the in-form Vitality Bee. Breaking that unfortunate run isn’t going to be easy against the top-placed LDLC, and they need to find answers, and fast, if they can make it to the playoffs with a last boost of confidence. But we don’t see that happening, and are backing LDLC OL to take out the Karmine Corp nexus.
