Release Date

Going by Riot’s official patch schedule, League of Legends patch 12.4 will go live on Wednesday, February 16, 2022.

Players can expect servers to go down for maintenance at 6 am EST, before returning live with the update at 9 am EST on launch day.

New Champion: Renata Glasc, the Chem-Baroness

The Chem-Baroness, Renata Glasc, is set to come with League of Legends patch 12.4.

Introduced as a Support, Renata Glasc “descends from a family of resourceful and altruistic Zaunuts alchemists,” according to Riot. She is a ruthless leader who want everyone to bend to her will, and in order for her to do that she needs to rough her enemies up a bit.

Abilities

Passive – Leverage

Renata Glasc’s basic attacks mark her enemies and deal bonus damage. Damage from Renata’s allies consumes the mark, dealing additional damage.

Q – Handshake

Renata Glasc sends out a missile from her robotic arm that roots the first enemy hit. She can reactivate the ability to throw the enemy in a target direction, damaging enemies hit and stunning them if the thrown target is a champion.

W – Bailout

Renata Glasc grants an allied champion or herself ramping Attack Speed and Move Speed toward enemies. If the ally gets a takedown on an enemy champion, the buff duration resets. If the ally would die while Bailout is still active, their health is set back to full but they begin burning to death over 3 seconds. The ally can stop the burn by getting a champion takedown before they die.

E – Loyalty Program

Renata Glasc sends out chemtech rockets that shield allies and damage and slow enemies they pass through. The rockets also apply their effects around her on cast and in an explosion at max range.

R – Hostile Takeover

Renata Glasc sends out a cloud of chemicals that causes enemies to go Berserk, increasing their Attack Speed and forcing them to basic attack anything around them. Berserk enemies prioritize attacking their own allies, then neutral units, then Renata Glasc’s team, then Renata Glasc herself.

League of Legends 12.4 Patch Notes

Apart from Renata Glasc’s release, Riot has yet to reveal information pertaining to 12.4’s patch notes. As usual, champion balancing and tuning can be expected, as well as possible changes to several items in the game.

Following up on LoL 12.3’s massive wave of changes to Fighter items, we expect that some of these changes will be adjusted in LoL 12.4 just for the sheer amount of balance change that went live at once. Whether that results in mass reversions of the previous changes remains to be seen.

There’s some other LoL content the development team has shared with players that don’t currently have a release date, and these changes could also show up in the eventual LoL 12.4 patch notes.

These include:

  • Changes to Chemtech Drake (currently disabled in Season 12)
  • Changes to Objective Bounties and how they function

  • A massive Rengar rework

We’ll keep this page updated as more information comes out about what will make the final cut of the League of Legends 12.4 patch notes.

Skins

Riot likes to add skins to League of Legends fairly frequently and for 12.4, that won’t be any different.

As far we can tell, there’s a likelihood of six new skins hitting the Summoner’s Rift once 12.4 releases according to the League of Legends official Twitter account. Kassadin, Qiyana, Shen, Xayah, and Ekko will all dorn new skins with the first three following the Shockblade line. Renata Glasc will also arrive with a skin for players right from launch called Admiral Glasc.
