League of Legends Shadow Isles Cup Guide: How to Compete in the Clash Event

Although week one of the event has been and gone, week two is just around the corner.

League of Legends Clash events is a Riot Games amateur tournament. Summoners can compete with a group of friends or randomers in order to get that prestigious Shadow Isles cup.

Clash events in League of Legends are brilliant amateur esports events which happen regularly in League of Legends. Every two weeks, a different region of Runeterra will give champions the opportunity to fight for their cup. Right now, the Shadow Isles are giving the opportunity to those players up for the test.

However, the Shadow Isles Cup event can be a little confusing to get set up with. So here is a guide on how to show up and grab that Win for the title!

What is League of Legends Clash events?

Clash events are a Riot Games official mini-tournament which takes place every two weeks in League of Legends. The event happens over two days and consists of two tournaments played over two weekends.

The bracket is made up of eight teams who fight each other for the trophy. Rewards for the event are given to every team, but the higher up the ranks that you place, the better the rewards will be for League of Legends.

Rewards can be anything from League of Legends emotes, skin shards, blue essence, or even another clash ticket. A Clash trophy is also shown in your Rift if you win a clash event. This will correspond with the region of Runeterra.

How to create a Clash team

Getting together a League of Legends team for the event is arguably the hardest part of starting a Clash event. The overall experience is simple and can easily be done by the party leader.

However, every Clash teammate who wants to play must meet all of the requirements in order to compete in the event. Teammates must…

  • Reached level 30
  • Completed placements in at least one Summoner’s Rift ranked queue
  • Verified your League account by SMS (this is a new Clash-specific feature)

Once all these requirements have been reached, setting up a team is easy. Here’s how to do it.

  1. Head to the Clash tab in your League of Legends client.
  2. If you already have a team, then select Create a Team, if you want to join someone else’s then Join a Team.
  3. Enter your team name, tag and icon.
  4. Then invite people to your team from the Clash tab. You can invite summoners to the team right up until the event starts.
  5. Ask each player to lock in their role with their clash ticket.
  6. Get ready to dominate in the Rift.
