LEGO Builder’s Journey Arrives on Xbox This Thursday

LEGO Builder's Journey 4

It’s been on Apple Arcade for a year, and on Switch and PC since June. But now, LEGO Builder’s Journey is making its way to Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.

A puzzle game made out of the popular plastic bricks, LEGO Builder’s Journey is more about the journey than the building. Developed by LEGO’s own Light Brick Studio, it’s a far cry from the action-packed brick-smashing games from Traveller’s Tales. Described as an “artistic, non-verbal puzzle adventure”, it’s about moving a brick-built figure around an environment, getting from one point to another. You’ll need to use bricks in creative ways to forge a path for your character. Get ready to use your noggin; later levels in the game aren’t afraid to get tricky.

Although it originally released back in December 2020 as an Apple Arcade exclusive, LEGO Builder’s Journey was expanded and enhanced for its PC and Switch release back in June this year. More content was added, and the graphics were overhauled to make use of advanced effects (like ray tracing on the PC version). Undoubtedly, the Xbox Series X version will prove to be a stellar showcase of the game’s visual fidelity.

We reviewed LEGO Builder’s Journey on Switch this summer, and here’s what we had to say:

“As a LEGO fan, I appreciate LEGO Builder’s Journey for trying something different. You don’t need to be a fan of LEGO to enjoy it though; it’s a rewarding puzzler in its own right, with just a few frustrations marring its admittedly short running time. Its challenging puzzles and fiddly controls make it something more suited to older players, but those of all ages will find delight in its colourful and downright charming visuals. If nothing else, it makes me keen to see what Light Brick Studio develops in the future.”

So: if you fancy jumping into some LEGO-based puzzling action on Xbox, you can. And soon: LEGO Builder’s Journey will land this Thursday, 25th November on both Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S. If you pick it up at launch, you can enjoy a 20% discount, too.

Unfortunately, there’s no word on a PlayStation release just yet. Although with it now being available on every other format, we imagine it might come to PS4 and PS5 eventually. Or we can hope, at least.
