Lunagaron is the second of the Three Lords that you can face in Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak. This giant wolf is infused with the power of ice, and you need to watch out for its rapid attacks. Here’s our Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak Lunagaron guide to help you beat this werewolf opponent so you can increase your Master Rank further.

Note: We’ll have a Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak guides and features hub soon, so stay tuned.

Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak – Lunagaron guide

You’ll fight Lunagaron in Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak around Master Rank 4. This occurs after taking out Garangolm (Master Rank 3), followed by a few more hunts and a special foe. Eventually, you’ll get the “Ice Wolf, Red Moon” quest.

Similar to the Garangolm, the Lunagaron is also in the Citadel, though it’s further north in the ice-covered caverns. Given that your foe relies on frost attacks, you’ll definitely want to wear ice resistance gear to help with survivability.

Note: Fiorayne will also assist you as an AI companion even though this is not a Follower Quest/Support Survey.

Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak Lunagaron Guide 1

Lunagaron’s speed and patterns are somewhat erratic. Here are some notable abilities:

  • Multihit Combos – Some of this beast’s attacks are relatively quick, so try to look at the sequence first before engaging. You don’t want to rush in in the middle of a combo.
  • Tailspin – A fairly common move that hits all characters around it.
  • Leaping Strike or Backflip Strike – If you’re further away from it, the boss will either leap to your direction or do a backflip before crashing down on you.
  • Howling Moon – Lunagaron will stand up on its hind legs and howl at the moon. Its body parts will then be encased in ice. This will boost its capabilities further unless you’re able to break the ice shards on those parts.

Note: Although this creature is further north, you might get lucky when the Barioth on the map heads to the caverns. Alternatively, your target might run off to a location with the Barioth. This should help with extra DPS so you can defeat Lunagaron in Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak.
