MPL MY Season 11: Sizing up the teams before the curtains rise

MPL MY Season 11: Sizing up the teams before the curtains rise

Season 11 of the Mobile Legends Professional League in Malaysia is set for some epic action, and it all begins on March 10, 2023.

With Season 11 of the Mobile Legends Professional League in Malaysia about to kick off, we know of some pretty big changes that have already occurred within the region. With the inclusion of Team Secret after the disbandment of Orange Esports, MY takes on some format changes too, while all 10 teams attempt to claim the title for themselves. There are definitely a few teams to keep your eyes on, as we look through our power rankings for MPL MY Season 11.

HAQ’ing and stabbing

Two teams from MY have already shown standout performances over the last few seasons, that being Team HAQ and TODAK. While both teams technically made it through to both MSC 2022 and the M4 World Championships, HAQ were previously under the banner of the now disbanded Orange for one part of last year. This changes nothing, as mutually these two teams are a force of destruction within the region. With unchanged lineups, as well of the addition of new players to supplement their rosters, the Swordfish and HAQ look ready to take another season down to the wire.

Matched at every turn, both teams have brought in a player from the Philippines to assist them on their Season 11 journey, with Malik moving into the Jungle role for TODAK, while Hito comes in to take on the Gold lane spot at HAQ. Even with the likes of RSG Slate MY and Team Secret fielding some amazing players, we have TODAK and Team HAQ as our top two teams.

RSG in the top three

After a new collaboration with Slate Esports, RSG’s team name became inclusive of their new partners – RSG Slate MY. But that’s not all that changed for the team, as they have made some big moved within their roster, while still retaining a magnificent squad which deservedly takes our third spot. The biggest additions to the squad include the return of RIPPO to MY, while Chr1sphobia also comes in from Indonesia. Both of these players, as well as the usuals such as Izanami, Leixia, and Lolealz could take this team even higher, but we will have to wait and see how they perform together.

Secrets revealed

Team Secret’s first foray into the world of MLBB is expected to be an interesting one, as the team looks quite strong on paper. With two PH players, as well as a coach from Singapore, Secret have the ultimate combination of players from around the Southeast Asia region. With that said, we have no seen them perform previously, so this could be them testing the waters as they find their place in MY.

The rest

Having mentioned four teams, it becomes difficult to really rank the rest based on performances, especially with new rosters, qualifying teams, and previous results. However, MY is one region where qualifiers have proven their strengths in the past, and this season we have two teams hoping to do exactly that – Red Giants Esports and Madness Esports. They will be hoping to cause some chaos in the Regular Season, while the likes of Team SMG, HomeBois, and RED Esports MY will be looking to avoid the upsets. All that in mind, our full rankings for MPL MY Season 11 looks like this:

  1. TODAK
  2. Team HAQ
  3. RSG Slate MY
  4. Team Secret
  5. HomeBois
  6. RED Esports MY
  7. Team SMG
  8. Team Lunatix
  9. Red Giants Esports
  10. Madness Esports

With MPL MY Season 11 set to kick off on March 10, 2023, we are looking forward to the new format, which will see a single group round robin – instead of the ten teams being split into two groups. This means that the two lowest scoring teams at the end of the Regular Season will be eliminated. After the dust settles on Week 1, we will come back to look at how things are going as MPL MY Season 11 is ready for some epic action.
