The Warriors defeated the Boston Celtics in the 2022 NBA Finals. It was Golden State’s sixth NBA title since 2015.

Hopes were high that the Celtics could win the NBA 2022-23 title just a few weeks ago. The team added some great pieces in the offseason, including Malcom Brogdon and Danilo Gallinari.

The veteran duo adds depth to the C’s, which is something they didn’t have last season. Boston was exposed for its lack of quality depth by the Warriors in the Finals. The moves led sportsbooks to place Boston as the favorite to win the title.

Yet, what goes up must come down. Boston has suspended coach Ime Udoka for the entire 2022-23 season for violating the team’s code of conduct. Joe Mazzulla will take charge of the team as interim coach. Udoka’s breaking of franchise rules has shot the team in the foot.

The Warriors didn’t do much in the trade or free agency market during the offseason. Otto Porter Jr. and Gary Payton II left the team and replaced with Donte DiVincenzo and JaMychal Green.

Sportsbooks favored the Celtics due to the lack of roster moves by the Warriors. However, the Warriors are more than the players they signed this offseason — or lost.
