New Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Patch Coming on December 1

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet has been a very controversial game. While a lot of fans have been enjoying the games for what they are, many others have been upset over the major bugs present in the game. Between players getting stuck, the game crashing, players falling through the map and so much more, it certainly feels like an incomplete game. While there was a Day 1 Patch, it did not seem to do much. There is another Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Patch and while it makes a couple of fixes, fans should be hoping it is the first of many new patches.

In an announcement by Nintendo, Patch 1.1.0 is the start of what will seemingly be a few more patches to fix many of the glaring issues with the game. Here are the official notes.

Ver. 1.1.0 (Releasing December 1, 2022)

  • Season 1 of Ranked Battles will kick off, allowing you to enjoy Ranked Battles through the Battle Stadium.
    • Please check the in-game notice for more details about Ranked Battles Season 1.
  • An issue has been fixed that caused the music to not play correctly during the battles with the Elite Four and the Top Champion in the Victory Road path.
  • Other select bug fixes have been made.

We are aware that players may encounter issues that affect the games’ performance. Our goal is always to give players a positive experience with our games, and we apologize for the inconvenience. We take the feedback from players seriously and are working on improvements to the games.

Just by reading this, it feels as if Nintendo is hoping that the last part, “Other select bug fixes have been made” might but them enough time to keep fans from returning the game. In the days after release refund was one of the top searches on Google Trends as the fan sentiment for the game was that the idea was there but the game was clearly not complete.

It will be interesting to see if or when the next patch for Scarlet and Violet will be.
