NFL Draft Prospects to Watch in College Football Week 4 Recap

While the 2023 NFL Draft is still far off in the distance, players that will be drafted early are on the field now. Each week presents unique matchups for draft prospects and this week is no different. Here are NFL Draft prospects to watch in college football week 4 recap.

1. Antonio Johnson, S, Texas A&M Aggies

Texas A&M was able to beat Arkansas on a neutral field by two points. It took some big plays from their defense to get the win, but they were able to power through and get the job done. Defensive back Antonio Johnson showed his talent and was all over the field for the Aggies. He finished the game with 13 total tackles.

While he didn’t make the biggest impact plays, Johnson showed his versatility off in this game with his tackles. He is one of the more unique prospects in the class because he is a bigger safety that lines up everywhere. His stock will likely continue to go up through the rest of the season.

2. Cedric Tillman, WR, Tennessee Volunteers

It was noted in the preview of the weekend, that Tillman may be out for the game against Florida with an ankle injury. He did not play, but Tennessee was still able to get a big win over Florida.

Tillman’s play throughout the year has him in contention to be a day two pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.

3. Brenton Cox, EDGE, Florida Gators

Florida took a tough loss to Tennessee, as their defense had a tough time slowing down the Volunteers’ offense. Brenton Cox didn’t show up in the box score much, but still showed flashes of his talent. He finished the game with one tackle and 0.5 tackles for loss.

Cox has proven to be able to get a freakish jump at the snap of the ball. That quickness has really helped him get attention early in the season. As an edge rusher, he will need to get to the quarterback to raise his stock, as he has no sacks on the season. There is still plenty of time for him to deliver.

4. Rakim Jarrett, WR, Maryland Terrapins

Maryland kept the game close against Michigan, but fell by seven points. They were able to throw the ball decently against Michigan’s defense, but the ball was spread out among several pass-catchers. Rakim Jarrett didn’t have his best game, as he had just four catches for 12 yards.

Jarrett was injured during the game, but looks to be ok long-term. He will need to produce against good competition to help his stock out, as this game did him no favors. Maryland has plenty of big games left for him to rebound.

5. Sam Hartman, QB, Wake Forest Demon Deacons

Wake Forest was able to take Clemson to overtime, but were unable to come away with a win. The offense was able to move the ball through the air effectively. Hartman had a great day for the Demon Deacons, as he passed for 337 yards, six touchdowns and no interceptions on 20/29 passing.

Hartman helped his stock in this game, as he had several well-placed throws downfield. The extended mesh offense helps open things up, but he still made good decisions with the football. Outside of C.J. Stroud and Bryce Young, many of the other quarterbacks in the class are struggling, so Hartman can continue rising up draft boards with games like he had against Clemson.
