NieR: Automata is getting an anime adaptation

Nier Automata AnimeOf all the games that came out in 2017, Yoko Taro’s NieR: Automata stood tall as one of the most impactful. Its predecessor NieR already had a significant cult following, but the sequel’s more polished gameplay mechanics and presentation, as well as its compelling narrative elements, helped make it a surprise hit. The game’s success also resulted in a few crossovers with noteworthy games, like Soulcalibur VI and Fall Guys. As of right now, it appears that the hype surrounding NieR: Automata has not subsided one bit, as Square Enix just revealed that the game will receive an anime adaptation.
This announcement came alongside a brief teaser for the show. Aside from a piece of concept art depicting protagonist 2B and her robot companion Pod 042, the trailer did not show any substantial information.
