Nurnberg vs Arsenal Match Analysis and Prediction

Arsenal begin their pre-season tour begins on Friday, as 2. Bundesliga side Nurnberg await the Gunners at the Max-Morlock-Stadion in Germany.

Nurnberg are preparing for their fourth consecutive season of second-tier football after finishing eighth last season, failing to win any of their final five matches in league action.

They have made occasional appearances in the top flight over the past decade and will no doubt have their eyes on a promotion charge for the 2022-23 campain.

After securing a 2-0 victory at Viktoria Aschaffenburg, Robert Klauss’ side were humbled 3-0 by Bulgarian powerhouses Ludogorets before being shut out in another defeat to Austrian side WSG Tirol, so it has been no surprise to see Klauss welcome a number of new attackers to the club in the current transfer window.

Missing out on Champions League fooball after being in control for so long was a bitter disappointment for Arteta’s young crop, especially as North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur will now play in the top continental tier, with injuries to the likes of Thomas Partey, Kieran Tierney and Takehiro Tomiyasu derailing Arsenal’s top-four finish.

Technical director Edu has brought in four new faces to the club already, including pavilion signing and new number nine Gabriel Jesus from Manchester City.

The Gunners have already taken to the pitch in non-competitive actio this season and thrashed Ipswich Town 5-1, with Eddie Nketiah scoring a hat-trick on the  day, and Arteta’s side will soon make a trip to the USA to meet Orlando City, Chelsea and Everton before the latest edition of the Emirates Cup against Sevilla.

Arsenal will once again be up first in the new Premier League season as they seek revenge on Crystal Palace for last season’s 3-0 thrashing at Selhurst Park, and also avoid a repeat of their opening-day 2-0 loss to Brentford last season.

Arsenal news

Arsenal have not officially confirmed the list of players to have travelled to Germany, but the likes of Thomas Partey, Bukayo Saka, Granit Xhaka, Martin Odegaard and Aaron Ramsdale are seemingly all absent following the international period.

New signings Jesus, Matt Turner and Marquinhos could make their debuts this week.

Nurnberg’s new-look attack will be tested to the limit against Arteta’s side, even if the Gunners are far from full strength, and both managers are sure to shuffle the pack as the game goes on.

Arsenal were in free-scoring mode against Ipswich Town, and we can only back them for the win.
