OG take out Entropiq 2-0 to stay alive in Roobet Cup

OG have secured their survival at Roobet Cup 2022 thanks to their 2-0 victory over Entropiq in the elimination match of Group A. The European squad found themselves in this situation after a loss to FaZe on the opening day, and now have the opportunity to get revenge against Finn “karrigan” Andersen‘s team on Sunday at 15:00 .

Meanwhile, the defeat marks the end of Entropiq‘s run in the online tournament. The Russian squad’s third event with Nikolay “mir” Bityukov did not yield the result they might have hoped for, but a draw against BIG, FaZe, and OG was never going to be easy.

OG cruised through Ancient thanks to mantuu

Despite only playing Ancient twice in the previous three months, OG chose the map as their pick and immediately started cooking on the offensive side. A successful opening pistol gave the European squad the early momentum to claim an 8-1 lead, a solid achievement on the T side of Ancient. Nemanja “nexa” Isaković was on fire today, but Mateusz “mantuu” Wilczewski was the star of the show and not just with the AWP as he kept winning rounds by himself with both pistols and rifles. Entropiq stole a few rounds late in the half by defending the B site, limiting their deficit to 5-10 before switching sides.

The second half was no kinder to the Russians as mantuu continued his reign of terror on the CT side, with Maciej “F1KU” Miklas following close behind. The offense failed to start any sort of comeback, only claiming two rounds on their way to a 7-16 loss.

It took some time for Entropiq to warm up after moving to their pick of Dust2 as OG took their third consecutive pistol round of the series and mantuu continued to perform, leading to a 5-1 advantage for nexa‘s boys. While Aleksei “El1an” Gusev initially struggled on the T side, Igor “Forester” Bezotecheskiy was finding the impact necessary to propel his team to a five-round winning streak, enough to keep the half competitive at 6-9.

The Russian squad came online much quicker on the CT side, briefly taking the lead at 10-9 as El1an began to perform. Halfway through the second half, a few chaotic rounds saw the two squads exchange blows, with OG coming out on top after breaking the CT economy. Shahar “flameZ” Shushan and nexa were a joy to watch in the second map, helping their squad come out on top 16-12 after a successful T side.
