Oink! Game Pass welcomes Peppa Pig and PAW Patrol, alongside three others

We’re not sure what to make of the Game Pass additions today. ‘Eclectic’ is probably the most positive epithet. Because the porcine princess, Peppa Pig, is kindly gracing us with her presence in My Friend Peppa Pig (Cloud, Console and PC).

If that’s not enough to ram the theme tune into the hollow halls of your skull, then can we also offer you PAW Patrol The Movie: Adventure City Calls (Cloud, Console, PC)? If you’ve got kids of a certain age, these two will likely fill you with negative emotions. Silver linings, however: you now have two games for them to play (a gateway to gaming perhaps?), all complementary with the Game Pass service.

To keep this eclectic theme going, how about PowerWash Simulator (Cloud, Console and PC), a day-one launch. Now, it may sound as fun as watching paint dry (or get wetter, as it happens), but there’s a lot of interest in this one, and its stint in PC early access has built quite a community. There is, after all, something primal about being presented with something mucky and washing it off with a jet stream of water. So, be prepared to buff a kid’s playground, archaeological finds, and an eighteen-wheeler on your quest to become the best powerwasher in the land.

How about something for the escapologist in the household? Another day-one release on Game Pass is Escape Academy (Console, PC), a title which does for escape rooms what Harry Potter did for magic. You are enrolled in the titular academy, and have the twin tasks of passing your exams while also uncovering the mystery of a monolith in the academy’s grounds. Better still, you can do so in co-op, bringing a partner along to share your ransacking.

Finally, we can reveal that Overwhelm (PC) has also been added to the service, albeit only for master-racers. By quite a margin the most hardcore of all the games released onto Game Pass today, it’s a lo-fi pixel action-platformer, with a fantastic twist. Rather than receiving power-ups yourself, the power-ups are picked up by your enemies. Try to deny the most fiendish beasts from getting the most potent buffs, or you might soon find yourself, well, overwhelmed.

There is one remaining announced game to come to the service, in the form of As Dusk Falls (Console, PC), which is due on July 19th. But knowing Microsoft, the second half of the month will have its own set of announcements. We will bring them to you once they are confirmed.

We also say adios to some Game Pass leavers on the 15th of July. Atomicrops (Cloud, Console and PC), Carrion (Cloud, Console and PC), Children of Morta (Cloud, Console and PC), Cris Tales (Cloud, Console and PC) and Lethal League Blaze (Cloud, Console and PC) are off tomorrow. Pick them up now while they have a Game Pass price reduction.

Don’t deny it: you’re going to be 100%-ing Peppa Pig, aren’t you? Confess all in the comments or on our social channels.
