Overwatch 2 Beta on PS5 and PS4 Starts Soon, Here’s How to Enter

The second Overwatch 2 beta is arriving on PS5 and PS4 on June 28, marking the first time that the beta will be available for PlayStation console owners. This next phase will add the new tank hero Junker Queen as well as a new hybrid map called Paraíso. The goal for this PvP beta will be to test the game’s performance on consoles and cross-play capabilities, with Blizzard gradually increasing the number of players in the beta over two weeks.

How to enter the second Overwatch 2 beta on PS5 and PS4

Players can opt in by signing up on the official website for the beta. Specifically for PS5 and PS4 owners, they’ll need to make sure to select the same region for which their PSN account was made, be it the Americas, Europe, Asia, or Japan. Invites will be sent to the email address tied to their Battle.net account.

Please note that registering for the beta doesn’t necessarily mean that you will be able to enter it on June 28 at the 11:00am PDT / 2:00pm EDT / 7:00pm BST release time. As the website explains, only a “small group of players” will get to try the beta at the start. Blizzard plans to “steadily add more players” in multiple phases, with the first wave of new entrants allowed in on July 5. The developer plans on including everyone who opted into the beta by July 14. That said, if you want to jump to the head of the line and ensure your place on June 28, you can purchase the Overwatch 2: Watchpoint Pack for $39.99.

Blizzard has revealed that Overwatch 2 will not use loot boxes for player progression, opting instead for a Battle Pass system that will allow players to choose what they unlock. Earlier this month, the developer also confirmed that the game will be free-to-play with the early-access launch slated for October.

In other news, Cyberpunk 2077 issues are now being blamed on an external QA company, and Assassin’s Creed Valhalla update 1.5.3 is bringing the Bifrost Bundle and Dawn of Ragnarok fixes.
