Overwatch League 2023 Spring Stage Qualifiers Betting Preview

Taking place online, Blizzard Entertainment is inviting the best Overwatch teams in the world to compete in their respective regions to qualify for the next stage.

Starting as soon as 27th April, the competition looks to continue up to 28th May once the round robin is complete. For those unaware, a round robin means that each team within each region will face one another once in BO3 matches.

For these qualifiers, the stakes involve a seed to the Spring Stage Knockouts, which will feature only the best teams from the West and East regions respectively.

With a multitude of matches to look forward to, we’ll be kicking things off by handpicking three matches which are excellent esports betting opportunities:

April 27th 2023

  • San Francisco Shock vs Toronto Defiant (21:00 CEST)

April 28th 2023

  • Houston Outlaws vs Los Angeles Gladiators (22;30 CEST)

April 29th 2023

  • Seoul Dynasty vs Seoul Infernal (10:00 CEST)

Helping us preview each match are betting odds as sourced from BC.Game. For anyone wishing to learn more about BC.Game, feel free to check out our deep-dive BC.Game review here.

Overwatch League 2023 Spring Stage Qualifiers – Odds and Predictions

San Francisco Shock vs Toronto Defiant

Sure, while Toronto Defiant may have outperformed San Francisco Shock at the OWL Pro-Am, the odds don’t favour this to happen all over again.

Instead, the Overwatch odds look to favour San Francisco Shock as the historically dominant team in the Overwatch League considering that the stakes are so high.

While the Pro-Am may have offered a ‘friendly environment’, we can’t wait to see what Toronto are made of – this match is a great test for them.

  • Predictions: San Francisco Shock (2-1) Toronto Defiant
  • Odds: San Francisco Shock Outright Win (1,32), Toronto Defiant Outright Win (3.1)

Houston Outlaws vs Los Angeles Gladiators

Speaking of success at the OWL Pro-Am, both Houston Outlaws and Los Angeles Gladiators placed in the top 4 and have both looked rather exciting.

On one hand, Los Angeles Gladiators is retaining their upward trajectory from last season, while Houston seems to have reaped the benefits of some much-needed roster changes.

Bearing this in mind, the odds favour Houston thanks to the number of veterans that look to pull this team through. Yet, it’s likely LAG will have something to say about that – making this a great Overwatch betting opportunity.

  • Predictions: Houston Outlaws (2-1) Los Angeles Gladiators
  • Odds: Houston Outlaws Outright Win (1.65), Los Angeles Gladiators Outright Win (2.10)

Seoul Dynasty vs Seoul Infernal

Our third preview is one which focuses on an East match-up.

In the off-season, Seoul Infernal was revealed as the rebrand for Philadelphia Fusion. Redesigning a new team and a new brand, this early encounter could help shape up this fresh rivalry.

Considering that East teams did not compete in the OWL Pro-Am earlier this year, this is hard to call. However, the odds favour Infernal and their carefully built roster.

  • Predictions: Seoul Dynasty (1-2) Seoul Infernal
  • Odds: Seoul Dynasty Outright Win (2.2), Seoul Infernal Outright Win (1.58)
