Pedri will be FIFA 23's top teenager

FIFA 23 is set to be released soon, and the brand-new ratings are always a major talking point each year.

Check below to see our predictions for how Barcelona could look in FIFA 23, with the ratings being used throughout the Ultimate Team season and at the start of Career Mode.

Top Players

It was a trophyless season for Barcelona in 21/22, although their league form in 2022 did mean they finished 2nd in La Liga.

In what will go down as a fairly disappointing campaign, Barca’s late form should see several stars earn upgrades in FIFA 23.

This should include some of their younger superstars, and we predict their three highest-rated stars will be:

Marc-Andre ter Stegen (OVR 88)

German goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen was one of FIFA 22’s top goalkeepers, but he is sure to be in for a downgrade.

Barcelona’s number one is currently rated 88 OVR in FIFA 22’s latest squad update, and that is what we think he will be rated in FIFA 23.

With an 88 OVR, we expect ter Stegen to remain Barca’s highest-rated player.

Frenkie de Jong (OVR 87)

Dutch midfielder Frenkie de Jong is strongly linked to a move to Manchester United, but while he remains a Barca player we expect him to keep his 87 OVR.

The 25-year-old boasts all the attributes of a quality box-to-box midfielder and should be hugely popular early on in the FUT 23 cycle.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (OVR 85)

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang only signed for Barca in January, but he still managed to reach double figures for goals in La Liga.

The Gabonese hitman suffered a rating hit early in FIFA 22, but his form for his new club has pushed him back up to 85 OVR.

Transfers

None confirmed.

Barca’s financial woes have been well-documented, so it would come as a surprise if they splashed the cash this summer.

Chelsea stars Marcos Alonso and Andreas Christensen have been strongly linked to the Catalan giants as they look to bolster their defensive ranks.

Midfielders Ruben Neves and Bernardo Silva are also said to be on the radar, but they may prove too costly unless there are departures elsewhere.

Upgrades

While none of Barcelona’s more experienced stars look set for an upgrade next season, their youngsters do!

Spanish international Pedri and 22-year-old centre-back Ronald Araujo are both in line for big upgrades in next season’s game.

We could see some big boosts for teenagers Gavi and Nico Gonzalez too, so keep an eye out for their potential in Career Mode.

After a turbulent season it will be no surprise to see some of Barca’s older stars taking a hit to their FIFA 23 rating.

The likes of Sergio Busquets, Gerard Pique, and Jordi Alba are all in line for the drop as they reach the twilight of their careers.
