The second Major tournament of the 2021/22 Dota Pro Circuit season, PGL Arlington Major 2022, is now fast-approaching. Unfortunately, several teams will not be able to take their place in Texas due to some players having visa issues.

The Chinese representative, Xtreme Gaming, has announced that they have decided to withdraw from the tournament for a direct ticket to The International 2022. Fnatic, on the other hand, will have to play with three substitutes due to the starting roster having their visa applications denied by the USA government.

In one way or another, thousands of fans have their eyes set on the upcoming international circuit to watch their favorite teams battle against teams from other regions. All tickets are already sold out for the event according to the tournament hoster. PGL Arlington Dota 2 Major will be held at Esports Stadium in Arlington, Texas, beginning on August 4th and ending on August 14th. Here are all the details you need to know about the tournaments before the action kicks off.

Format

The hotly-anticipated event will kick off with the group stage, where teams will square off against each other to secure their tentative playoff spot. There will be two groups of nine teams each, and the top four teams will qualify for the upper bracket of the playoffs, while the 5th and 6th placing teams from each group will start their playoff run from the lower bracket. The bottom three teams will be eliminated from the tournament. Lastly, all matches will be bo2 in the group stage.

The playoff stage will take place in a single-elimination bracket, meaning the upper bracket teams will have a chance to drop a series as they continue their run from the lower bracket. All matches except the grand finals will be bo3.
