Map Veto :

  1. Gambit removed Nuke
  2. Natus Vincere removed Vertigo
  3. Gambit picked Overpass
  4. Natus Vincere picked Mirage
  5. Natus Vincere removed Inferno
  6. Gambit removed Ancient
  7. Dust2 was left over

Gambit looked destitute and listless as the crowd at the Avicii Arena witnessed a complete massacre by Natus Vincere who constantly shut down what their CIS counterparts had on their papers to execute despite a valiant effort put up by Abay ‘Hobbit’ Khasenov on Overpass. The first half of Overpass looked well contested by Gambit only to enter a downward spiral, getting punished left, right and centre by Na’Vi.

Having lost their map pick 16-8, Gambit looked firm to square off the series deficit on Mirage, further being hammered down by their own mental stability to crash 16-3 making it the fastest map to have ever ended at a Major.

While the last three years have indeed been tough for Nikola ‘NiKo’ Kovač post-FaZe Clan’s choke at the hands of Cloud9 from the ELEAGUE Boston Major. But it was the 24-year-old’s passion that kept the stone rolling for his now current team, G2 Esports as the latter are just hours away from facing Natus Vincere in their first-ever Grand Final at a Valve Sponsored event.

With the above being said, both Niko and S1mple would be battling out for that Major title and the sweet lion’s share of $1,000,000 from the prize pool as the duo have never ever laid their hands over a Major trophy. This would be the first time we would see a different face taking home the Major title after Astralis who won a hat-trick of majors from across 2018-19.
