From the 16 teams, 12 teams will continue their competition in Round 4 to see who will stay and who will leave.

Round 3 Recap

High Matches

G2 Esports vs Entropiq

G2 Esports became the team that halted Entropiq’s unbroken run at Major Stockholm. Their matchup in Round 2 has resulted in the team’s first loss in the Legend’s stage, and second in the tournament so far. G2 took only two maps to secure the win and also their place in the playoffs.

In the first map, Mirage, the two teams were head-to-head, and almost evenly matched. But G2 managed to tie the points at round 28, and then won the last two rounds to win with a score of 16-14. In the second map, Dust2, G2 continued their momentum and just won multiple points back-to-back and also won the second map.

G2 Esports won 2-0.

Natus Vincere vs Ninjas in Pyjamas

Na’Vi repeated and sustained their winning streak thus far as they entered the match versus Ninjas in Pyjamas. The teams played only two maps – Nuke and Overpass, and Na’Vi owned both the maps with ease. In the first map, Na’Vi controlled both halves of the map, but NiP did manage to grab a few points here and there. The second map, it played about the same as Na’Vi showed why they are the best CS:GO team in the world.

Natus Vincere won 2-0.

Low matches

Team Vitality vs Evil Geniuses

From the back of two back-to-back losses, Team Vitality was raring to go and win a point so they can have a slim chance to stay in the Major. Evil Geniuses was in the same boat, so the two teams were in a true attrition war to stay in the competition. On the first map, Vitality won the match and had a good chance of seeing themselves staying in the competition.

Unfortunately, everything went to the dumps in maps 2 and 3, where Vitality found a second wind and won both maps to grab the win from the jaws of defeat.

Team Vitality won 2-1.

MOUZ  vs ENCE

MOUZ wanted to redeem themselves after losing in rounds 1 and 2; ENCE felt the same. The two teams went to the match with only one thing in mind – finding a win. In the first round, MOUZ owned the map, not giving ENCE an inch of win. The same can be said in round two, where ENCE did start strong, but by round 14, MOUZ just gram win after win until round 26.

MOUZ won 2-0.

Mid Matches

FaZe Clan  vs Copenhagen Flames

The biggest surprise so far this tournament has been the Copenhagen Flames beating one of the best teams in the world, FaZe Clan. What makes the win even more magnificent was CPH dominating the whole match, and not giving too much to FaZe.

Copenhagen Flames won the match 16-6.

Gambit Esports vs Virtus.pro

Virtus.pro treated their recent loss to Navi as a quick wake-up call for them to double their effort to try and stay in the competition. Unfortunately, they also met a similarly pumped-up Gambit Esports after their own loss to Entropiq. Gambit was a bit stronger in this match, as they dominated the first half and most of the second half.

Gambit Esports won 16-14.

Team Liquid  vs FURIA

FURIA continued their winning streak with their match against Team Liquid, and they won the match 16-9. Team Liquid managed to grab a lot of points in the first half, but FURIA dominated the second half and ended the match in round 25.

FURIA won 16-9.

Astralis  vs Heroic

Unfortunately, Astralis did not manage to pull a win against Heroic, who came to round 3 on the back of the win against Vitality. Heroic just conquered the match with win after win in the first half, to the point that Astralis was trailing by 12 points at round 18. The match ended in round 22.

Heroic won 16-7.

The losers of the Low matches – Evil Geniuses and ENCE – are unfortunately the first two teams disqualified from the competition.

The winners of the High Matches – G2 Esports and Na’Vi are the first teams to qualify to the playoffs stage, also known as the Playoffs. The other twelve teams will be going on to round 4 to see who will be disqualified next.
