PGL Major Stockholm: It is a world’s best grand final after Day 11 ends

Natus Vincere and G2 Esports showed the world why they are the best of the best in CS:GO.

Two semifinal matches saw four great teams battle it out to see who can book the seats to the grand final match for the Major Stockholm 2021. Only two teams managed to go past this level, and they are undeniably the best CS:GO teams in the world.

There is a reason why Natus Vincere or Na’Vi as they are commonly known are named as one of the best teams in the world in CS:GO. Their strategy, execution and everything is top-notch, and it was shown clearly in this matchup against Gambit Esports.

The teams played two maps – Overpass and Mirage. In the first map, Na’Vi immediately showed their dominance against their fellow countrymen as they won points after points in the first half of the map. The same goes for them in the second half where they did not give any chance for Gambit Esports to grab any points for themselves.

Natus Vincere won 2-0.

The other semis match sees two giants in Europe meetup – Heroic and G2 Esports. One hails from Denmark while the other from Germany – both wanting to be the European rep to the Grand Final. The two played three highly contested maps, Nuke, Mirage and Inferno.

In map 1, Nuke, Heroic took the lead and easily overpowered G2 Esports to win 16-12 thanks to the guidance of IGL cadiaN. Map 2 however is where the sleeping giant that is G2 woke up. Heroic did win the first few encounters, but in round 8, G2 started their campaign of just winning. This campaign continued to the second half, where they eventually won 16-10.

The third map, Inferno is where things got juicy. Both teams played to the limit and resulted in a 15-15 draw in round 30, which pushed the game to extended time. But, G2 was superior in extended time, as they did not concede any win to Heroic, and won 4 of the extended round matches. This gave the map win to G2 Esports.

G2 Esports won 2-1.

The grand final will see a matchup between Natus Vincere and G2 Esports. The question is, how will the match swing as this is not the first time a grand final between Na’Vi and G2 happened – the most recent was IEM Cologne 2021 where Na’Vi won the trophy. Only time will tell how the Grand Final of Majopr 2021 will play out.
