Pikmin Bloom Holding its First Community Day Event This Weekend

Pikmin Bloom, Niantic’s latest AR wander-tracking game launched worldwide over the last couple of weeks. And now it’s holding its first community day, so Google can track you and your friends in one big group and harvest ever more data about you.

The event kicks off at 9am local time on November 13th, and offers up a bunch of different rewards for your walking. What sort of rewards? Why, these sort of rewards –

  • Pikmin seedlings in your planter pack will grow at about 1.5x the usual speed
  • Fruits will give 2x the usual amount of nectar
  • Users who walk 10,000 steps or more on this day will be awarded a special “Community Day Participant” badge
  • Big Flowers will bloom into pansies

The Community Day will run until 6pm local time, so you’ll have an entire working day and a bit more to complete your goals and get your rewards. Isn’t modern gaming magical?

If you haven’t tried Pikmin Bloom yet, and you’d like to for whatever reason, you can click here to download the game from the Play Store. It’s free with IAP.

Quite how long Pikmin Bloom will survive in the wild is anyone’s guess, what with Niantic’s current penchant for culling its games, but it’s live now and scraping data from your existence, so that’s nice.
