Point-and-Click Space Adventure ‘Dexter Stardust’ is Coming to iOS this Week Following Switch and Steam Releases

Following its launch on Steam and Nintendo Switch this past March, indie point-and-click adventure Dexter Stardust is making its way to iOS devices this week. A passion project of solo developer Jeremy Fryc, who wrote, directed, illustrated, animated, programmed, and scored the game on his own, Dexter Stardust is a throwback adventure game that uses traditional frame-by-frame animation and features fully voice-acted dialogue. The game takes place across 5 different episodes and you’ll explore more than 100 different interactive scenes across 5 different planets. You can get a good idea of the overall vibe of Dexter Stardust from this launch trailer from the game’s PC release.

Point-and-click adventures have long been a perfect fit for touchscreen devices, and I’m always interested to see brand new entries in this classic genre. It’s also extremely impressive that, aside from some friends helping out with the voice acting, this entire endeavor was the work of a single person. Dexter Stardust, much like many of the great classic adventure games, doesn’t seem to take itself too seriously, and based on the previous PC and Switch releases it seems to have received a pretty warm reception. I think it will make a nice addition to the catalogue of adventure games on mobile. Dexter Stardust will set you back just $4.99 and includes all 5 chapters, and you can pre-order it on the App Store right now ahead of its release this week on August 11th.
