There are eight types of weather in the game, from the snowstorms of Alabaster Icelands, to the intense sun in Cobalt Coastlands. What are the types of Pokémon Legends: Arceus weather?
Pokémon Legends: Arceus brings back most of the types of weather from Sword and Shield, including fog, sun, intense sun, overcast, rain, thunderstorm, snowstorm, and snow. Sandstorm fans, we’re sorry. Though all these weather types return, it’s worth pointing out that this time around, not all weather types affect battle mechanics, and those that do have had significant tweaks.
There are four types of Pokémon Legends: Arceus weather that alter battles, and you can see how below.
Pokémon Legends: Arceus snow
Snow replaces hail as the frosty weather condition. In the snow, Pokémon are more likely to develop frostbite, which halves special attack, or feel the effects of drowsy, making it a challenging weather type for battle. Ice-types do well in the snow, due to immunity from frostbite, and a speed boost.
Pokémon Legends: Arceus rain
The effects of rain have changed slightly for Pokémon Legends: Arceus. The rain will no longer power up water-type moves, but does still stifle any fire-type attacks, so if it’s precipitating, it’s probably not the best time to take Growlithe on a walk.
Pokémon Legends: Arceus strong sunlight
Strong sunlight is another returning weather condition with a revamp. This weather status now doubles the speed of grass-type Pokémon, rather than boosting the attack stats for fire-types.
Pokémon Legends: Arceus fog
Fog functions just as you would anticipate, lowering the accuracy of all Pokémon and moves. There isn’t a type that’s immune to fog, so it’s the most frustrating of the new conditions, as you can hardly plan for it. If you need to catch a Pokémon in a foggy area, it might be best to come back later, or find an alternative method altogether.
How do I change Pokémon Legends: Arceus weather?
You can easily change the weather in any of the game’s locations by returning to one of Pokémon Legends: Arceus base camps, and sleeping until the morning. Once you have slept, the weather changes, and if you need a specific kind of weather, just keep repeating until you get the desired results. Of course, after all that adventuring, you could probably do with a couple of days off anyway!
