PSVR 2 Minimum Space Requirements Detailed in New FAQ

PSVR 2 will offer three different VR play styles, each of which has its own minimum space requirements according to a brand new FAQ. The good news is that each of these play spaces can be customized using the Sense controllers and cameras inside the headset itself.

What are the different PSVR 2 minimum space requirements?

Which mode is used will depend on the game itself, but each of the three play styles has a minimum space required to work properly:

  • Roomscale – minimum play space of 2m × 2m (6 ft 7 in × 6 ft 7 in)
  • Sitting – minimum play space of 1m × 1m (3 ft 4 in × 3 ft 4 in)
  • Standing – minimum play space of 1m × 1m (3 ft 4 in × 3 ft 4 in)

While these are the minimum space requirements, players can customize their play area using the PSVR 2 headset cameras and the Sense controller. The cameras will scan the room and allow players to see their surroundings using See-Through View. The Sense controller can then be used to expand the play area and set up a customized boundary to suit their room setup. If the player gets close to the boundary, they’ll get a warning before any damage is done.

In other PSVR 2 news today, Sony revealed the headset will not require the use of a TV after it has been set up, and Horizon Call of the Mountain has gone gold.
