Realme Enters The Quad Camera Masterace With An Affordable Lineup

Today we saw the launch of Realme’s newest models, the Realme 5 and 5 Pro, in a launch event at Subang Jaya.

Replacing the Realme 3 & 3 Pro, the newest duo will include a quad-camera setup, a first for the brand, and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 665/712, making the phones quite formidable in the mid-range market.

The 5 Pro’s camera setup is using a 48MP Sony IMX 586 camera for it’s main, a 119-degree ultra-wide-angle lens (8MP), a portrait and ultra-macro lens, and a 16MP AI front camera. Quite beefy specs for the phone in the camera segment.

Spec-wise, both phones will be packing the UFS 2.1 storage, with the 5 Pro getting 128GBs of memory and 8GBs of RAM. Both are also fitted with a 4035mAh/5000mAh battery which, along with the VOOC 3.0 20W fast charging, is better than their competitors. Plus, they finally introduce USB Type C ports for their phones.

The screens are also quite good, with both featuring a 6.3-inch FHD+ dewdrop screen that fills the screen of the phone quite well. This paired well with the colorful design of the ColorOS 6 (which is based on the Android 9.0), making it quite good looking when you power it on for the first time.

And with that, the phones will launch on 10 October for the Realme 5 and 17th October for the 5 Pro, pricing at 599 to 799 MYR for the base models and 1099 MYR for the Pro. For online buyers, Lazada will be the exclusive place to get your hands on these phones.
