Resident Evil Village Might be Headed to Xbox Game Pass – Rumour

It’ll soon be a year since the launch of Resident Evil Village, and Capcom could be looking to mark that with a significant new development for the game in the near future. Xbox Game Pass subscribers who haven’t yet had a chance to dive into the survival horror game’s offerings might soon get the chance to do so.

As reported by XGP, the listing for Resident Evil Village on the Polish Xbox Store page mentions that the game is also available with Xbox Game Pass. That, of course, is currently untrue, and no official announcements regarding the same have been made by Capcom or Microsoft, so it remains to be seen whether this was a glitch or more of a slip-up. The listing was edited shortly afterward, with the mention of Game Pass removed, but you can check out a screenshot below, courtesy of XGP.

Interestingly, in April last year, leaked internal documents revealed that a deal between Sony and Capcom stipulated that Resident Evil Village could not launch for any competing subscription services for a year after its launch, including the likes of Xbox Game Pass, Xbox Live Gold, Stadia Pro, and more. May 7 will mark the one-year anniversary of the game’s launch, so there’s a chance that Capcom decides to bring it to Game Pass past that date.

In other Resident Evil news, Capcom is currently at work on DLC for Resident Evil Village, though there’s no word on when that will be out, or even formally unveiled. Meanwhile, leaks have also repeatedly claimed that Resident Evil 4 remake is in development, and will be revealed soon.

Later this year, Resident Evil 2, 3, and will also receive visual and performance enhancements on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
