Resolut1on and Zayac move to inactive status on Team Secret roster

Team Secret will have a different offlane duo to fight for promotion in the Spring Tour.

According to an official announcement by Team Secret, both Roman “Resolut1on” Fomynok and Baqyt “Zayac” Emiljanov have been benched until the organization finds a “fitting home for them.” The announcement implies that while Reso and Zayac won’t be competing with Team Secret in the second Tour of the 2023 Dota Pro Circuit, they are not free agents either.

Thank you Zayac and Resolt1on.

I will be forever grateful for joining my team and helping me achieve success in a year where it seemed impossible.

We truly had some awesome experiences together and it was honestly quite a fun time. I am sad that things did not work out, but I hope everyone finds a way to another great path

– Clement “Puppey” Ivanov

Resolut1on and Zayac joined Secret when the team looked nearly lost, and with no chance at making it to TI11. Zayac was first to join, towards the final tour of the previous DPC season. At first he came on a stand-in basis, replacing Yazied “YapzOr” Jaradat, who made a sudden exit from the pro scene due to health issues. A couple of weeks later, Reso also came in to help by standing in for Daryl “iceiceice” Koh.

With the new offlane duo, Team Secret placed top 4 at Riyadh Masters 2022, top 3 at ESL One Malaysia 2022 and made an incredible run at TI11, coming from last chance qualifiers and reaching the grand finals.

Coming off hot from a second place finish at The International 2022, Team Secret registered a massive drop in form and were the most unexpected surprise in the Winter Tour by relegating to Division 2.

Per DPC roster lock rules, the teams that want to make changes to their rosters have until Tuesday, March 7, 2023, at 11:59 am PT to remove players. The new additions can be locked with the roster until Sunday, March 12 at 11:59 am PT.

This means that although Team Secret is bound to play in the second division of the Western European regional league, and thus will start their matches only in April, they will still need to announce the full roster by the end of this week.

For the past several days, Team Secret’s mid lane player, Miroslav “BOOM” Bičan has been spamming offlane in pubs, which could indicate that he might make a role swap in the Spring Tour.
