Respawn Entertainment, the developers behind Apex Legends and the Titanfall series, will reportedly be bringing more Titanfall content to Apex Legends in future seasons, according to a report from Metro GameCentral.

While Apex only made brief allusions to Titanfall, Season 9 changed everything we the introduction of Valkyrie and the Rampage LMG. The new Legend and weapon were directly pulled from the Titanfall universe, and, to many, served as a sign that Apex Legends would begin to draw more from its sister franchise.

The upcoming season, Season 11: Escape, does just that by bringing two more elements of the Titanfall franchise: Ash, a new Legend, and the C.A.R. SMG.

For a while Respawn was wary of drawing too much from the Titanfall series, wanted to establish Apex Legends as a unique entity with its own story and identity, even if both games are set in the same universe.

Now that Apex Legends has truly established itself as a distinct game, the developers are more comfortable drawing back to it. In an interview with Metro GameCentral, members of the development team said “Then we were like, ‘Okay, people get it. They understand what Apex is and how it connects and how it differs.’ And, ‘Okay, now we can start going back to, and really pulling more from Titanfall without being self-conscious about it.'”

Apex players shouldn’t expect to see a swarm of upcoming Titanfall content though, Respawn Entertainment remains adamant about keeping Apex Legends identity unique. They emphasized this point in their interview with Metro, specifying “I think you’ll continue to see parts big and small of Titanfall coming to Apex but I don’t think it will be as big as this season, obviously. It’s not like every season it’s going to have some new Titanfall thing. We still want Apex to be its own thing, but the passion of the team continues to be, ‘Hey, a lot of us have worked on Titanfall. We love Titanfall. Let’s bring these in when it feels ready.’”

Apex Legends Season 11: Escape is launching on Tuesday, Nov. 2 on Xbox, Playstation, PC, and Nintendo Switch.
