Riga FC will host Gil Vicente at the Skonto stadions in the first leg of their UEFA Europa Conference League third qualifying round on Wednesday night.

Riga have been impressive in the Conference League qualification campaign, where they began in the first round knocking out Derry City 4-0 on aggregate before seeing out Ruzomberok 5-1 on aggregate in the second leg.

They now will be looking to extend their life in the European football as they seek to edge a step closer to the main competition. They have not been in action since the second round but come into the match on the back of a five-match winning streak, and will be looking to build on that as they to give fans another reason for celebration.

However they have a mountain to climb when Vicente come calling on Wednesday. Gil Vicente finished fifth in the Portuguese Primeira Liga last season and thus automatically earning a place in the third qualifying round of the Europa Conference League.

They will therefore want to begin on a positive note as they look to edge an inch closer to qualifying to the group stage of the competition.
